Tubing · About 2 hours
Class I. An hour floating down the lower Naranjo in your own tube, 20 minutes from town.
This is the quickie. Two hours from start to finish, and for one of them you do nothing at all.
It's a 20-minute drive to the river, and then you sit down in your own tube. Then the Naranjo takes over. This is the bottom of the river, where the canyon has opened out and the water has slowed down. There are no rapids to speak of. The current just carries you, and it feels a little like flying.
Lean back and look up. Big old trees on the river shores. There are kingfishers on the bank and white ibis in the shallows, and whatever else is out that day. Your guides float along beside you. They keep the group together and get you moving again if you stop on a rock.
About halfway down we pull over on the bank for a snack: fresh pineapple, cookies and something cold to drink.
After an hour on the water you're out, with the rest of the day still in front of you.

Families with children from age 6. Anyone who has never been on a river and wants an easy first time. People with one free morning or one free afternoon. Anyone who wants the river without the rapids.
If you want rapids in a tube, look at the Savegre Jungle Tubing (Class I–II+, age 12 and up).
